Property Dedication: Payne-Meinig Nature Reserve

  • Longuissa Bay, Cognashene (map)

Come celebrate this new conservation property with us!

The Payne-Meining Nature Reserve is a 16-acre shoreline property in Cognashene’s Longuissa Bay, generously donated to conservation late last year by Tom Payne and Elaine Meinig. The property contains a diversity of habitat, including mature forest, open rock barrens, provincially rare wetland ecosystems, and a small island. Guests will have a chance to learn about some of the many plant and animal species that make their homes here. Read more about the Payne-Meinig Nature Reserve here.

Location: Longuissa Bay, Cognashene (map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RE7LPRufv7dN1oXa6, GPS coordinates: 44.958485, -79.885675). Please note that this location is boat access only. Limited dock space is available at the neighbouring cottage (23212 Georgian Bay Shore) - please arrive in small boats if possible, and/or be prepared to beach or anchor.

Light refreshments will be served.
