The Rogers Reserve is an example of conservation being about more than just numbers and acreages. Although small, this island is surrounded by extensive coastal wetlands that in low water connect it to the adjacent islands to both the west and the east. It’s these wetlands that marked the Rogers Reserve as a target for protection, because of the rich habitat they provide for a variety of wildlife species.
