Property Info

This beautiful, west-facing property is located at the north end of Go Home Bay, where it manages to include both wave-blasted rocks and secluded, sheltered nooks.

There are five distinct habitat types within these twelve acres, including rock barrens, an alder thicket that provides good overwintering habitat for animals, and a small but rich fen. This property also borders and provides protection to several shoreline marshes.

The Georgian Bay Land Trust conducts bird research at the Robertson Nature Reserve, including MAPS migration monotoring and our Prairie Warbler study. We've been delighted to find Prairie Warblers nesting among the junipers - it is places like this that help these small black and yellow birds thrive in Georgian Bay while being absent from much of the surrounding region.

Thank you to Dr. Robertson for making this gift to nature.
