Property Info
The MacCallum Reserve is a stunning property located on the western edge of Go Home Bay, where it provides a breakwater to the inner islands. Contained on the island are elevated ponds and sheltered marsh inlets providing habitat for many species of Georgian Bay fauna and flora, and at the north end there is a large and locally rare Leatherleaf Shrub bog.
MacCallum provides habitat for species at risk, and hosts one of the Land Trust's Motus wildlife tracking stations, used to monitor migratory birds. In the past, this island was a painting location for the Group of Seven.
