Property Info

The Kennedy Islands are classic Georgian Bay rock and pine, beloved not only by humans, but birds, turtles, and snakes as well. These four beautiful islands are located in central Bayfield Inlet, and surrounded by fifty other islands as part of a relatively undisturbed archipelago. This area is home to a wide variety of wildlife including many species at risk. The fish community is extensive, including smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, longnose gar, rock bass, sunfish, and perch, and the area is also a popular feeding and colony site for Common and Caspian terns.

Protecting the Kennedy Islands contributes to protecting this biodiversity in the face of increasing development pressures, and maintaining migration opportunities for wildlife amongst the larger archipelago. We're grateful to Ross and Ann Kennedy for this gift to Georgian Bay.
