“Georgian Bay is such a special place—ecologically diverse and home to some of the most environmentally sensitive areas in Ontario. I’m excited to join the Georgian Bay Land Trust family, and to contribute to our hard work preserving and protecting this incredible area.”
-Jason

The GBLT is delighted to welcome Jason Wagar to our team as our new Director of Development. Jason holds a Masters of Charity Marketing and Fundraising from the Sir John Cass Business School at City University London, and comes to us after three years as the Senior Manager of Individual Giving and Foundations at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). A Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), he is an Instructor of Fundraising at Ryerson University and has previously worked as the Manager of Donor Services and Marketing with the Toronto Community Foundation.

Jason’s personal experience with land trusts began when his cottage community on Lake Ontario joined together to save a large parcel of land from development. He was inspired by the process and has become a firm believer in the role of land trusts and philanthropy in land preservation. Jason also has professional experience in the area, having worked with two land trusts to establish and grow their endowment funds during his time with the Community Foundation for Kingston & Area.

Jason will be starting with the GBLT on May 4th, and is looking forward to meeting many of you throughout the summer. We’re thrilled to have him with us and look forward to the talent, energy, and expertise that he will bring. Please join us in welcoming Jason to the GBLT!
