"This island was bought by my grandfather in the 20s as a fishing base.
Our extended family has enjoyed picnicking on it for many, many years.
Now we feel that the neighboring islanders would be more able to enjoy
and look after it better than our family as we are a few kilometers away.
Under the Land Trust stewardship we know that this lovely island will
be preserved in perpetuity for others to enjoy."

Stewardship Program
Stewardship is one of GBLT’s core program areas, ensuring the long-term protection of
the natural values that initiated the securement of all of our properties in the first
place. Through the purchase or acceptance of land and easement donations, the GBLT is
committed to the stewardship of that property in perpetuity. Our Stewardship
Program is dedicated to achieving this goal through the support and passion of members
of our local communities that share in our interest in protecting these special places.
The stewardship of all of our properties is led by dedicated individuals and families
that are committed to watching over our reserves to make sure that they are properly
cared for, monitored and respected by those that visit. If you or someone you know is
interested in helping us with this critical task or providing financial support for our
various stewardship funds that keep this program running, please
contact us.
