"Hurontario was my camp as I grew up and ended by being a counselor! Now we have a cottage, on an island, 15 minutes from Honey Harbour. I remember being on canoe trips and lying at night in my sleeping bag looking at the millions and millions of stars and wondering what other living forms might be in the universe. Now, I can do the same every night when we’re at the cottage. It is a magical place! Being a steward of The Lizard means my grandchildren will be able to do the same thing.

Saturday, August 28th: Giant’s Tomb Nature Walk
Dive into the natural beauty of Giant's Tomb on this captivating property with your guides, Biologist Donald Fraser and steward Kevin Gillen. Meet at 12:30 on Giant's Tomb, or, for those of you leaving from Sans Souci, Norm Playfair will lead a Trip from the SSCA docks leaving at 11:30 am (no small boats, please make sure you have a full tank of gas, boat-pooling encouraged).

Friday, November 5th: Bayscapes Art Auction
Join us at the Capitol Event Theatre for an evening of beautiful art! Over 50 artists will donate works to help support the Georgian Bay Land Trust (GBLT).
Highlights include “Paint the Bay” artists Gary Evans, Mara Korkola, Rachel MacFarlane, Paul Mantrop, Monica Tap and Chris Roberts. Each of these artists have selected a GBLT property to paint and will be hosted this summer on Georgian Bay so they can create beautiful pieces for the auction. Selected artists who are committed to preserving the Bay will be also be part of the Silent Auction, including Ed Bartram, John Hartman and Bruce Steinhoff.
Funds raised from the donation of art support the GBLT’s mission to protect the uniqueness of the eastern shore and North Channel of Georgian Bay through the securement and on-going stewardship of land that has ecological, geological and historical importance.
