Georgian Bay has long been a muse to visiting artists, its dramatic landscapes sowing the seed of inspiration and producing some of Canada’s most iconic art. Join the Georgian Bay Land Trust (GBLT) in celebrating both the natural beauty of the Bay and its rich artistic heritage at the Capitol Event Theatre on Friday, November 5th for the biennial Bayscapes Art Auction!
Over 50 artists have donated works to help raise funds for the GBLT – highlights include the participants of Paint the Bay, who visited various GBLT properties this summer to create artworks inspired by the beauty surrounding them. Paint the Bay participants include Gary Evans, Mara Korkola, Paul Mantrop, Rachel Macfarlane, Monica Tap and Chris Roberts. Selected artists committed to preserving the Bay will also be taking part in the Silent Auction, including Ed Bartram, John Hartman and Bruce Steinhoff.

Funds raised from the sale of art go towards supporting the GBLT’s mission to protect the uniqueness of the eastern shore of Georgian Bay and the North Channel through the acquisition and ongoing stewardship of land that has ecological, geological and historical importance.
