"My two brothers and I donated a small island to the Land Trust
many years ago through the American Conservancy. It was our feeling that the
area was very attractive and a happy place for people and when the area became
overcrowded this beautiful place would disappear. So we put it in the hands
of an organization which would maintain it in its present condition. Although
we had a paddle tennis court on the island and invited the neighboring cottages
to enjoy a game now and again, we are shy and reticent to promote this donation
too broadly."
